It's that time of year again y'all! I am beyond thrilled to fly back up to that city that never sleeps on Saturday and start my summer internship with one of my all-time fav companies, Birchbox! I've been following Birchbox's success for the past few years and am more or less obsessed with everything about them.

Working as the PR intern I'll get to help with all of the amazing initiatives and upcoming projects the company is launching this summer. And trust me, big things are in the works!

Until then, check out this quirky, quintessential Birchbox anniversary video.

Talk Derby To Me

The first Saturday in May is no normal day in the state of Kentucky.

It's Derby Day.

Since 1875 those born and bred and those who wish they were gather in all their splendor to booze, schmooze, and bet (with 150,000 of their closest friends).

After a 8am final and a quick 10-hour drive back to the Bluegrass the day prior, early Saturday morning brought in the all-familiar scent of fresh cut mint (and if it hadn't hit me before) I was home.

I'll give you a vine-type version of the next eight hours: tailgate. horses. more mint juleps. cooing at old friends. horses. racing forms. in-field. yelling. more mint juleps. betting window. toasting. singing "My Old Kentucky Home". laughing. more horses. betting window. hugging. the most time consuming 5-mile car ride of my life.

Oh and this moment when former Louisville Basketball player Chane Behanan was adopted into our family's 3rd floor clubhouse box.

"Tough girls come from New York. Sweet girls, they're from Georgia. But us Kentucky girls, we have fire and ice in our blood. We can ride horses, be a debutante, throw left hooks, and drink with the boys, all while making sweet tea, darlin'. And if we have an opinion, you know you're gonna hear it." - Ashley Judd
