Getting Nakd

With summer internship season in full swing, sticking to clean eating can easily fall by the wayside in the midst of running to catch a subway, answering e-mails, and trying to make time for a blink of sleep.

Breakfast

In the mornings I love a protein-filled avocado egg combo. The best part is, it takes maybe 3 minutes to prep and you can finish getting ready while it bakes.

1. Pre-heat oven to 425f
2. Split the avocado in half, scooping out a little extra to make room for the egg
3. Crack two eggs and drop into the empty spaces
4. Sprinkle with salt + cracked pepper and bake for 15-20 min

Snack

Recently I was sent over these amazing bars courtesy of Natural Balance Foods based in the UK. The Nakd bars are cold-pressed with no added sugars, vegan + less than 5 ingredients (which I can name!) aka revolutionary. As a bit of a chocolate freak, my favorites are definitely the Cafe Mocha and Cocoa Delight. These bars are quickly becoming my newest obsession, and the fact that they're free of all fillers and gunk makes them a staple for healthy girls around the globe.
Did I mention-- FREE shipping to the US?

Another snack time/ really anytime fav is a good green juice. While I'm not planning on sipping aloe vera anytime soon, these uber trendy cold-pressed juiced pack a hard punch of leafy greens.

My favorite combo?
Kale + Spinach + Romaine +  Cucumber + Ginger + Lemon + Celery
The trick is to ask for (or buy one with) apple--helps to disguise some of the kale flavor and tastes refreshing.

Lunch

Now that I'm back in NYC I've been incredibly spoiled with all of my favorite lunch time spots. Bread & Butter, Essen and Melt Shop just to name a few! While ordering in is extremely tempting, it's important to take a break and actually go outside during the daily grind.

A new favorite is easily the Earth Bowl from Sweetgreen
Warm grains + organic arugula with roasted chicken, white cheddar, grape tomatoes, raw corn and spicy broccoli; topped with a pesto vinaigrette.

It's not about eating smaller- it's about eating smarter.

Sunday Sounds

After the whirlwind of a month formerly known as May, I'm detoxing a little this weekend before starting at Birchbox tomorrow morning. Now unpacked and unwinding, I figure the best way to enjoy a perfect evening on the water is through a delicious combo of stawberry spinach salad + a few of my mix-tape favs.

Portugal The Man - "People Say"

John Mayer cover of Beyonce - "XO"

A night of solitude. I'll toast to that.
